Cellist Edmundas Kulikauskas graduated in 1979 from the cello class of M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts teacher R. Armon. 1979 – 1984 he studied at the P. Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow under one of the most famous pedagogues of the cello school - prof. Natalia Shakhovska.
Since 1989, he has been the concertmaster of the cello group of the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra. In 1990 he was invited to work in the Lithuanian State Quartet. Since 1996, the performer has been working as concertmaster of the cello group of the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra.
One of the most important areas of the cellist's activity is contemporary music by Lithuanian composers. The works of Lithuanian composers were recorded on compact discs by the English company "ASV" and the Swedish "BIS".
Currently, E. Kulikauskas works in the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, plays in the "Gaidas" contemporary music ensemble and the "Kaskadus" piano trio.
In August 2002, at the 9th International J. Brahms Competition, the performer won the 1st prize with the "Kaskadu" trio.
