Opis wydarzenia
In modern western society, more and more people are radically changing their relationship with traditions: either they try to blindly follow them, or they demand their destruction. An interim solution seems no longer possible. Can we build on tradition while remaining critical of it?In the performance Duet, this tension is revealed through dance. Ballet is the beloved mother and condemned father of the Western dance tradition. In the performance, the performers struggle with classical dance, and he does not give up and resists them. However, the purpose of this fight is not to defeat, but to lift each other up. Ballet forces the dancers to search for the essence of the classical worldview, and the dancers challenge him to speak in the voice of today. Viewers watching this never-ending struggle are invited to think about their personal and societal role in defending, destroying or ignoring traditions and their relationship to today.
