Antonio Vivaldi's oratorio "The Triumph of Judith" is an allegorical story about the 1716 victory of the Venetians against the Turks who conquered the island of Corfu. It is a story about the victory over the conquerors from the east, the basis of which is the biblical plot about the Jewish widow Judith, who saved the Jewish people from the attacking Assyrian army. The young widow Judith with her maid comes to the enemy camp to the army commander Holofernes himself, pretending that she wants to seduce him. Judith cuts off the head of the sleeping Holofernes, puts it in a sack, and both she and the maid calmly leave the enemy camp. The warlord is dead, the army retreats. The Jewish people are saved.
With the brutal war going on today, the creators of the play believe that Judith must triumph, and with her, Ukraine. Theater "Utopia" together with the National Drama Theater of Kaunas, with the help of impressive creative forces - the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, opera soloists, the choir "Liepaitės", the flat dolls of the artist J. Skuratova and the extraordinary baroque work of A. Vivaldis, presents "Triumph of Judith" as an act of artistic resistance and hopes that the magical act on stage might help in this war as well. The opera is characterized by an unusual composition of performers: five soloists and a chorus of girls work in it, which gives the musical part special strength and vital energy. Hungarian soloist Dalma Krajnyák (Hungary) and Lithuanian soloists Renata Dubinskaitė, Lina Dambrauskaitė, Jomantė Paukštė, Indrė Anankaitė will appear in the main role of Judita.
