After defeating the disease, Kostas Smoriginas organizes his 70th anniversary concerts
"I bow my head low to my listeners, they are the litmus test that feeds me all my life. I wouldn't sing if the audience didn't like it, why bother?!" - as always ironic actor, performer Kostas Smoriginas. Most likely, that irony, strength and endless desire to live helped him defeat the disease and devote himself to his work again - as the 70th anniversary approaches, the actor prepared a new program of his songs.
"I am an artist. Those who call me an actor are not wrong, those who say that I am a songwriter and performer are also right", K. Smoriginas, who spent more than forty years on stage and was awarded the Lithuanian National Culture and Art Prize, and today cannot imagine without creativity, without the stage of your life.
For the long-awaited meeting with viewers and listeners, the actor prepared a two-part concert, which will undoubtedly become a dedication to Her Majesty Music, Her Majesty Song, Her Majesty the Stage. At the concert, K. Smoriginas will present his latest songs based on the texts of Liutaurs Degėsis, Evaldos Jaras, songs based on the lines of Romo Lileikis and Sigita Geda will be revived. The classics of K. Smorigins will also be played, without which listeners cannot imagine his concerts - the songs "Birds", "Kalėdos".
K. Smoriginas invited his loyal companions - composer Audrias Balsis, guitar virtuoso Martynas Kuliavas, as well as a string quartet - to his anniversary concerts, which will be held throughout Lithuania. K. Smoriginas has no doubt that the music performed by the quartet will add new colors and musical poetry to the songs.
The singing actor's anniversary celebration is organized on stage by the good music experts "Bardai LT". "This concert is a colorful, interesting and very musical journey through the maestro's life. Fans of the artist will have a unique opportunity to hear songs dressed in new musical clothes, from a barely audible pianissimo to a powerful and rich fortissimo," says one of the organizers of the concert, Alina Semionova.
For the jubilee concert, "Bardai LT" is preparing to release a CD of K. Smorigin's new songs.
K. Smorigin's anniversary concerts will begin on April 1 at the Jonava Cultural Center, and will end with a huge concert on April 22 at Vilnius St. Catherine's Church.
