Little Abilene cherishes her porcelain rabbit Edward very much - she dresses him up in beautiful clothes, talks to him as if he were real and always tells him how much she loves him. For his part, Edward, although able to think, is firmly convinced that he does not love anyone. Until one day, as the family sets out on a boat trip, Edward falls into the ocean...
"The Extraordinary Journey of Edward Tulein" is a fantastic, difficult and rewarding journey of Edward the porcelain rabbit, in which he begins to consider what love, loneliness, longing, friendship are and eventually realizes that his heart is made to love. American writer Keitė DiCamillo's book was already recognized by US parents as the best book for children in the year of its publication (2006) and was included in the "School Library Journal's" list of 100 best books for children.
Director Kotryna Siaurusaitytė, who is presenting her fourth directorial work at the Juoz Miltinis Drama Theater, claims that the play will offer children another wonderful way of learning about the world - theater, with playful methods and boundless ingenuity. "While reading, it seemed as if I was actually traveling with the main character, meeting the most diverse and very likeable characters and simultaneously experiencing both the most beautiful emotions and the saddest ones... This story has an air, a mystery - that's what is most fascinating, engaging and allows in its own way, based on individual experience, to understand and interpret", says K. Siaurusaitytė.
"Extraordinary journey of Edvard Tyulein" will teach children to expand the boundaries of fantasy, to create and think more boldly, openly, differently, and will involve young viewers in a beautiful and sensitive journey towards the opening of the heart.
