Anna Zabello (Ona Zabielaitė‑Karvelienė, 1899–1955), star of the Italian opera houses, is a soloist (contralto, mezzo-soprano) and teacher. She studied vocals at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory and the St. Cecilia's Royal Academy of Music. In 1928-1930, she was a singer of the Roman Hadrian's Royal Opera, in 1936-1938. - The prima donna of the Royal Opera House of Athens "Olimpia", who achieved the highest recognition in the latter theater. Ona Zabielaitė-Karvelienė as a soloist of the "Olimpijos" theater in 1938. toured in Vienna, held four solo concerts in Budapest. She also sang in Cremona, Čivitavecchia, Naples and other opera theaters, and after the start of the Second World War, she returned to Lithuania and taught at the Vilnius Music School and the Vilnius Conservatory (1940-1949).
The program "Don't forget me" is dedicated to the memory of the love story and dramatic fate of Ona Zabielaitė-Karvelienė and the co-owner of Anykščiai power plant and mill, Anykščiai luminary Jonas Karvelis. The script was created based on Rimantas Vanagas' documentary book "The Miller and the Moon". The book describes the sacrificial, selfless love that accompanied the life of J. Karvelis and the famous opera soloist - from their first acquaintance, during Ona's study years, wandering between Italy and Lithuania, and until the last day of her life.
Kaunas Musical Theater soloist Rita Preikšaitė will perform the role of Ona Zabielaitė-Karvelienė on stage, and her husband J. Karvelis will be performed by soloist Egidijus Bavikinas. We will hear arias and songs from the repertoire of O. Zabielaitė-Karvelienė. The performers will be accompanied by pianist Beata Vingraitė. Actress Virginija Kochanskytė will tell the story.
