Gytis Padegimas, one of the most productive directors of Lithuania, who has staged more than 100 plays in Lithuania and abroad, together with theater, film and television actor Dovydas Stončius, presents the tragic story play "Nightmare", which tells about how important it is to forgive in life, in the biggest Lithuanian bookstores and libraries. "The only thing that cannot be forgiven is unforgiveness" - the main idea of the play, quoting the French writer Romenas Gari, is described by director Gytis Padegimas. According to him, the topic and problem of dismissal is becoming more and more relevant. "We know how to blame, but we don't know how to forgive."
The play is based on the play of the same name by the American writer, playwright, director Adam Rapp, in which the 32-year-old character painfully survives a tragic accident that occurred in his teenage years. A decade and a half into his desperate search for redemption, he struggles to cope with pain and alienation. "The play is about the fact that even after painful events related to loss, there must be repentance, apology and mercy," says the director of the play.
For Gytis Padegimas, the topic of the book has always been interesting and important, so the form of presentation of the book was chosen for the performance. "Writing a book, the hero of the play relives the painful past, but at the same time destroys hurt and negative experiences. Writing allows him to return to a full life." The hero of the play will open up his experiences and wounds in order to heal them and help others heal. "Open speaking will help heal the traumas that are full of everyone's social and personal life," says the director.
Gytis Padigimas remains true to authenticity, authenticity, sincerity and openness, something that never gets old. Gytis Padegimas is constantly looking for new authors who have not yet been presented in Lithuania. According to the director, this performance will be a surprise for the audience, to which everyone must come with a thinking heart - to be ready to think and feel, to understand the other. The sponsor of the performance is the Lithuanian Council of Culture.
