2023 is a special year for Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. Waking up on the morning of 25 January, Vilnius will celebrate its 700th anniversary, as it was on this day in 1323 that the city was mentioned for the first time in written sources, in the letters sent by the Grand Duke of Lithuania, Gediminas to Europe. Among the events dedicated to the anniversary year is this concert, with musical greetings from artists from Austria, the Netherlands and Israel. These include the famous Camerata Salzburg and violinists Janine Jansen and Gregory Ahss, the Orchestra’s artistic director. The musicians present a delicate programme of music by the Viennese classic and genius Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
