This May, the National Gallery of Art will host the Vilnius Spring Festival, organized by the St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra for the second time – a modern, bold and open musical project that combines the tradition of classical music with the lively breath of today! The festival, which will take place on four Thursday evenings in May, will invite you to hear unique performances – from the latest percussion music from the Baltic States to original premieres and experiments with jazz. Vilnius Spring Festival will not only bring meaning to spring in the city, but will also show that classical music can be completely different – unexpected, lively, and dialogical. "This year's festival will exclusively present music and performers from the Baltic countries. We will have the opportunity to be the first in Lithuania to hear a concert by the percussion ensemble Baltic Percussion Trio, an exceptionally interesting program has been prepared especially for the festival by one of the best chamber orchestras in the Baltic States, Sinfonietta Riga, and violinist Daniil Bulayev. We will be happy to invite you to the anniversary evening of the famous composer Algirdas Martinaitis, and we will present the latest jazz music extravaganza by the St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra and Dainius Pulauskas Trio. The month of May on the right bank of the Neris River will be full of new impressions, musical premieres, excellent performers and artistic experiences!", - festival director Nerijus Masevičius introduces the festival.
