About the Theatre The "Vilnius Tech Teatras-Studija "Palėpė"', located at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH), is one of the most active and creative cultural spaces at the university. Founded in the autumn of 1999 on the initiative of director Oleg Kesmin and the university management, Palėpė has become a place where students who love theatre art come together. History and Development Since its first premiere, P. Shaffer's Equus on 9 March 2000, the theatre has managed to win a place in the hearts of the university community and the young people of the city. In its early stages, the theatre faced the challenge of a lack of adapted space. However, with the help of the university, the students set up the necessary infrastructure in the classrooms, and the theatre was later renamed "Palėpė" in the hope that one day it would be a real theatre hall. Activities Repertoire: The theatre's repertoire is diverse, ranging from classical drama to modern drama, interpretations of Lithuanian prose, musical and poetry performances, as well as original works by members of the theatre and collective creative projects. Education and Creativity: the "Palėpė" gives students the opportunity not only to act, but also to direct, write scripts, design costumes and scenery, as well as to acquire skills in lighting and sound direction. International Cooperation. Mission and Goals The aim of "Palėpė" is not only the dissemination of the art of theatre, but also the development of personality through the creative process. The "Vilnius Tech Teatras-Studija "Palėpė" promotes self-expression, creativity, teamwork and responsibility by giving students the opportunity to challenge themselves in different areas of theatre activity. Cultural Contribution Over the years, "Palėpė" has become an integral part of the cultural life of VILNIUS TECH and the city, contributing to the cultural education of the academic community and local youth. "Vilnius Tech Teatras-Studija "Palėpė"' is a shining example of how a passion for theatre can bring together people from different backgrounds for joint creative work and personal development.
