Vincas Krėvė-Mickevičius Memorial Apartment-Museum was opened in 1997 in Vilnius, in the former professors' house, where Vincas Krėvė-Mickevičius, a classic of Lithuanian literature, playwright and orientalist, lived from 1940-1944. While living there, he became the organiser of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences and its first president, academician. His scientific career began in 1919, when he became an associate professor at the University of Baku (Azerbaijan), and later he was a professor at the Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Vilnius University, and the University of Pennsylvania (USA).
