On the eve of the restoration of independence, thus still in Soviet Lithuania, seeing satirical political current events, parodies of political and historical figures was not only unusual, but also terrifying: maybe everyone will be arrested, interrogated and imprisoned soon. This is reflected in more than one report about the performances of the "Šepa" theater. The actors of "Šepa" themselves do not even understand the question of courage or fear, they only remember the excitement. All the more so because no one arrested either the actors or the audience. The director himself said in 1989, the year Šepa theater was born, that he is not afraid at all, because he continues the Vilnius tradition of Christmas plays.
