Julius Tamošiūnas was born on 26 March 1958. Born in 1918 in Panevėžys.
In 1977 he started working as an actor at the Juozas Miltinis Drama Theatre. In 1987 he graduated from the Lithuanian State Conservatoire (now the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre). In 2004 he graduated from Vilnius Pedagogical University with a Master's degree in Educational Sciences (Management of Cultural Institutions).
