Aldo Nikolaj (1920–2004) is an Italian playwright, actor, translator and screenwriter well known throughout the world. The author has written 75 plays, 50 theatrical monologues, numerous scripts for radio and television. Many of his plays have received prestigious awards. In an interview, A. Nikolaj says that the theater has always been for him "that magical toy that prevents boredom and always keeps the company". Aldo Nikolaj did not shy away from painful topics, but he skilfully drew bitter truths into an attractive form. Interesting plots, convincing characters and mild humor are the strongest features of his work.
