1982-1989 studied art history at the Lithuanian State Art Institute (now Vilnius Academy of Arts). Since 1989 worked at the Institute of History, later at the Institute of Culture and Art. in 1993 defended his doctoral thesis in the field of art studies in the field of humanities. Since 2002 - Senior researcher at the Institute of Culture, Philosophy and Art (since 2010 - Lithuanian Cultural Research Institute). Since 1993 teaches art in Vilnius, since 2008 - at the Lithuanian Music and Theater Academies, since 2008 - docent. Since 1995 Chief editor of the art culture magazine "Krantai". Member of the editorial board of the scientific journal Menotyra (LKTI, LMT), responsible secretary. Member of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA), member of the Lithuanian Society of Art Historians, member of the Association of Performing Arts Critics.
