studied at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater, where he obtained a master's degree (class of Prof. V. Mikštaitė, class of Prof. V. Juozapaitis). The soloist made his debut at the Kaunas State Musical Theater in 2004. R. Baranauskas was awarded the Kaunas theatrical prizes "Fortuna": 2006 for the role of Dwarf Nose in the opera of the same name by Tomas Kutavičius, 2008. for roles in Kiss Me Kate and The Barber of Seville. In 2006, he won the award for the best soloist of the year - the statuette of the musical theater "Orpheus".
