His father was Rostislavas Andrejevas (1907-1967), soloist and director of Kaunas Musical Theatre. Brother - Kostas Andrejevas, automation and telemechanics engineer.
From 1949 to 1960, he studied at the piano class of the Kaunas Ten-Year Music School. Studied at the Conservatory of the LSSR: 1960-1965 in Aldona Dvarionienė's piano class, 1966-1971 in Eduards Balsis' composition class. 1961-1966 Concertmaster of the LSSR Conservatoire. [1]
1965-1991, with a break from 1979-1982, taught at the Vilnius Balys Dvarionas Music School. From 1973, with a break from 1991-1998, he was a lecturer at the Lithuanian Conservatoire (now the Academy of Music and Theatre), from 1989 associate professor, and in 2010 professor.
1974-1982: harpsichordist and pianist of the LSSR Philharmonic Early Music Ensemble Musica Humana. Secretary of the Board of the Lithuanian Composers' Union 1984-1989, Chairman of the Board 1989-1991. 1991-1998 - lecturer at the private conservatory "Mayeusis" in Vigo (Spain), head of the piano department, deputy director, since 1996 professor. For his services to the Conservatoire, one of its halls is named after Julius Andreev. [2] Director General of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre 1999-2001. [3][4]
23 October 1988. On 28th January 1988, at the founding congress of the Lithuanian Sąjūdis, he was elected a member of the Sąjūdis Seimas.
He was buried in Antakalnis Cemetery.
