1645-1658 Moliere's traveling troupe of actors performed his plays in the province. Since 1658 Moliere's troupe, having performed at the Louvre and gained the favor of Louis XIV, re-established itself in Paris. Moliere himself was the dramatist, director and actor of the troupe all the time.
He died after losing consciousness on the stage where his play "The Alleged Patient" was performed.
