In 1977, he graduated from the Lithuanian Conservatory (H. Perelštein's class). 1976–85 Choirmaster of the Lithuanian Opera and Ballet Theater, since 1989 chief choirmaster and conductor. In 1983–90, he led the Vilnius Municipality Symphony Orchestra Vilnius, various amateur choirs. Trained in Moscow in 1984. Since 1985 he has been teaching at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater (until 1992 the Lithuanian Conservatory, 1992–2004 the Lithuanian Academy of Music); Professor (2013). In 1985–89, he was the leader of the chamber choir of the Lithuanian Conservatory, with the choir he became a laureate of international competitions in Italy (1988, 1989, 1990), France (1991) and Spain (1991).
With the choir of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater, he prepared more than 90 opera premieres (P. Tchaikovsky's Lady of Spades 2001, Kristoforos, with others), more than 20 large-scale vocal symphonic works (the first in Lithuania to perform A. L. Dvořák's Requiem, J. S . Bach Passion according to Morkai).
