 English singer and songwriter. XL Recordings offered Adele a record deal when in 2006 her friend posted the post on Myspace. 2008 Adele received the Brit Awards 'Critics' Choice' and the BBC's 'Sound of 2008'. Her debut album 19, released in 2008, was a huge success. This album went 6 times platinum in the UK. 2009 Adele won Best Debut and Best Pop Performance at the Grammy Awards.2011 Adele released her second album, 21, at the beginning of the year. The album was well received by critics, and in 2012 At the Grammy Awards, Adele received 6 awards, including Album of the Year. In doing so, she set the record for the most Grammy Awards in one night. Adele received many other awards for this album, including two Brit Awards and three American Music Awards. This album went diamond in the US.2011 and 2012 Billboard magazine named Adele Artist of the Year. 2013 In January, Adele was nominated for her song "Skyfall" at the 85th Academy Awards and won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.
