Russian and Lithuanian musical theater teacher, director. Professor of the St. Petersburg N. Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory, a figure in the Lithuanian community of St. Petersburg. in 1969 graduated from Juozas Gruodis Higher Music School in Kaunas. Studied at the Leningrad N. Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory, where he majored in pianist and opera directorship. He taught at the Lithuanian Conservatory, wrote and defended his dissertation in art studies on the work of Jurgis Dvarionas. in 1975 appointed director of the Lithuanian Philharmonic. Later, he moved to Leningrad and worked at the Department of Opera Preparation at the N. Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory. The title of docent, then professor, was awarded. Appointed dean of the Faculty of Vocal and Directing, vice-rector of the Conservatory. He staged Joaquin Rossini's opera "The Barber of Seville" at the Kaunas Music Theater. in 2006 awarded the title of honored artist of Russia. Awarded the "Santakas badge of honor" of the city of Kaunas. In the same year, he was elected chairman of the Lithuanian community in St. Petersburg. in 2010 St. Petersburg's Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian choir Baltikum was organized on his initiative.
