Laimute Kuzmickaitė was born in Rokišky in 1956. August 9 in the family of engineer Jonas Kuzmickas and doctor Bronė Karaliūnaitė-Kuzmickienė. 1963-1974 studied at the 24th secondary school in Kaunas and at the same time attended the piano class of Juozas Gruodis Children's Music School in Kaunas. In 1974, after taking private lessons from the then soloist of the Kaunas State Musical Theater, Bernarda Petravičiūtė, she entered the Vilnius State Conservatory, where she studied solo singing first with docent Elena Dirsienia (Mažrimaitė), and later in the class of professor Zenon Paulauskas. After graduating from the conservatory in 1982 together with two other students - Gediminas Maciulevičius and Dale Rakauskiene, was accepted to work as a soloist at the Kaunas State Musical Theatre.
