Born on 20 November 1943 in Kaunas.
1960-1964 studied at Vilnius University. She published her first collection of poems "Zemė kėlė žolę" at the age of seventeen, and began publishing her work in the press even earlier - in 1958. In addition to Lithuanian theatres, her plays have been staged in theatres in Moscow, Kiev, Minsk, Tbilisi, Helsinki and elsewhere. Her works have been translated into English, Russian and other languages. She has translated children's books by R. Dahl, L. Snicket, J. Wilson and others, as well as British folklore for children from English.
