Born on 18 July 1951 in Kaunas.
In 1973 graduated from Kaunas Polytechnic Institute (now Kaunas University of Technology), graduated as a civil engineer. He made his debut in the republican press (in the magazine "Nemunas") in 1972, and four years later his first book of poetry "Forgive the Storm" was published. It was one of his strongest literary debuts. He translates poetry (I. Bunin, D. Samoilov, A. Gemanov, N. Gumiliov). His own poetry has been translated into Russian, Latvian, Ukrainian, Norwegian, Serbo-Croatian, Georgian, Hungarian, and has been published in foreign anthologies and magazines. Lives in Kaunas.
