in 1977 graduated from the Lithuanian Conservatory in the class of Julius Juzeliūnas. Since 1975 teaches at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater, since 2000 still teaches at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, Kazimierz Simonavičius University (since 2015). 2000-2009 Teacher at Čiurlionis Arts Gymnasium. 2011-2012 also taught at Mykolas Romeris University, 2013-2014. – Klaipėda University. in 2011 awarded the title of professor. Gives lectures on European music after 1945, 20th century. American music and new compositional techniques.
1979-1996 – Member of the Board of the Lithuanian Composers' Union, 1991-1996. - the chairman. 1991-1994 – Vice President of LATGA-A (Lithuanian Copyright Protection Association Agency), 1994-1996. - President. Member of the World Academy of Film Music (since 2001).[1]
1991-1995 organized international new music festivals "Gaida".
