Lithuanian composer, musicologist, pedagogue. Daughter of R. D. Žigaitis. In 1980, he graduated from the Lithuanian Conservatory (E. Balsis class). In 1980-82, he studied at the P. Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow (in the composition class of N. Sidelnikov). Since 1983 he has been teaching at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater (until 1992 the Lithuanian Conservatory, 1992–2004 the Lithuanian Academy of Music); professor (since 2018). Since 1998, chief editor of the magazine Muzikas bars (with others, since 2007). 2005–07 and 2008–10 director of the Klaipėda Musical Theater. Since 2010, the president of the Lithuanian Musicians' Union. Artistic director of the Tytuvėnai International Summer Festival (since 2005). One of the creators and organizers of the festival's Great Parade of Musicians (with R. D. Žigaičius, since 1997). Conceived and manager of the international educational concert projects Let's make music together in Biržai (since 2011), Birštonas Summer Arts Academy (since 2013).
Prepared and released more than 100 CDs of academic music by Lithuanian music artists. Published the collection of articles Search for the Opera (2013)
