Born on 31 July 1931 in Kaunas. Member of the Lithuanian Photographers' Union since 1985, Honorary Member (1996), granted the status of artist in 2005. Member of the Lithuanian Cinematographers' Union. 1948-92 Lithuanian film studio cameraman. He has shot feature films such as Azure Horizon, Adam Wants to Be a Man, Living Heroes, The Iceman, Forest Legend, Spruce the Serpent's Queen, Beauty, Summer of Men, Wounds of Our Earth, Nightmare, Merry Stories, The Devil's Bride, Oaks Are Turning, Nutbread, American Tragedy, The Zodiac, Passengers of the Earth, and others. In addition, he has made documentaries and science popularisation films.
Exhibitions: held solo exhibitions in Lithuania (Vilnius, 1952, 2001, Klaipėda 1997).
Awarded: Honored Artist (1981).
