Ukrainian violinist, laureate of national and international competitions.Oleksiy Semenenko started learning to play the violin at the age of 6. He graduated from the Odesa Secondary Special Music Boarding School named after Pyotr Stolyarskyi (taught by Zoya Petrivna Mertsalova) and entered the Odesa Academy of Music named after Nezhdanova. Since 2007, Oleksiy Semenenko studied in the master class of Zakhar Bron and the chamber music professor Harald Schoneweg at the Cologne University of Music.He created the "Quartet named after Stolyarsky", with whom he performed in Ukraine, Russia, Switzerland, France, and Malta. Plays on a 1720 Dom Amati violin, from the Sinfonia Foundation Mannheim, Germany.In 2015, Oleksiy Semenenko won "silver" (2nd place) at one of the most prestigious music competitions in the world — the Queen Elizabeth International Violin Competition in Belgium. 62 applicants from 20 countries of the world were selected for the competition. 12 violinists reached the semi-finals, including Ukrainian violinist Vladyslava Luchenko.
