Jamie Lee Curtis (born 22 November 1958) is an American actress and Academy Award winner. She is best known for her role as Laurie Strode in the film Halloween (1978). For this role, Jamie Lee Curtis is often referred to as the original scream queen[1][2][3].
Jamie Lee Curtis was born into a family of actors. Her mother is Janet Leigh, best known for her role in the horror film Psycho, and her father is Tony Curtis, best known for his role in Girls Only in Jazz.
In 1978, Jamie Lee Curtis made his feature film debut in the highly acclaimed horror film 'Halloween'. In 1984, he won the British Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for Trading Places.
In 2015, he played the lead role in the hugely popular horror series Scream Queens. In 2018, 40 years after the release of the original, Jamie Lee Curtis starred in the sequel to his debut feature, Halloween (2018).
