"The photographs of Remigius Treigis are already familiar to us and cannot be confused with anything else. An almost empty landscape, in which - only a barely visible border separating the sea, sky, sand; a lonely building and a space of flat landscape disappearing in the mist; dead window cavities in the wall of a dark building; covered or obscured objects in the darkness of an empty room; and the cosmos of white debris, dust, scratches, further emphasizing the stillness and darkness of the image - these are its hallmarks. In his eyes, any object - simple, insignificant, everyday - becomes an instrument of self-knowledge and reflection on being, and such an activity requires a little more time than the duration of one moment of photography"... in 2014 The Photography Fund of the Lithuanian Union of Photographers published the monograph "Remigijus Treigys. Photographs 1987-2012". The extended photo album is a multi-layered project that covers a wide range of artistic issues: from the legitimation of the aesthetic image to conceptual models of image perception and knowledge reading. Due to the combination of visual expression and conceptual assumptions present in the works, the author established himself in the field of art criticism, he is periodically presented in the pages of theoretical and scientific publications, but the entire creation has not yet been reviewed in one author's work.
