– composer, pianist and music producer, born on February 14, 1980, in Saldu. Writes popular and academic music, actively performs concerts, participates in various musical projects as a pianist, studio musician, arranger, composer, producer and artistic director of ambitious musical projects, regularly collaborates with Latvia's best musicians.
After graduating from the Zirņi elementary school in the Saldus district and the piano department of the Saldus Children's Music School, Jānis Strazds entered the Liepāja College of Music (currently the Liepaja Music, Art and Design High School) in 1995, where he completed the department of theoretical music subjects and also studied music composition with the teacher, composer Agra Engelmann. In 2000, he began his studies at the Jāzeps Vītolas Academy of Music of Latvia, and in 2005 he obtained the qualification of a composer and pedagogue of theoretical subjects of music in the composition class of Professor Romuald Kalsons.
