Julien grew up in Fecherol, the family estate built by Joe, with his mother Christine and his older brother Jonathan.
in 2010 he staged the musical "Il tait une fois... Joe Dassin", which was based on songs from Joe Dassin's repertoire and the story of his wonderful life. With him, Julien began his brilliant musical career, re-singing his father's well-known songs.
At the same time, Julien began releasing his music albums. But viewers continue to see the father in the son singing his songs. Julien says that he is not offended by this, but he is proud of it: "In childhood and adolescence, it was difficult for everyone to be Joe Dassin's son, but then it became easier. Women often say to me: "We knew your father very well!" In fact, all of France knew him! And I know my father just like anyone else. Not even as a father, but as artist Joe Dassin. I watched all his programs, studied his movements, facial expressions, gestures. What he loved and hated - whether he wore a white suit or jeans and a t-shirt at home. I studied all these details to know him. I'm his biggest fan!”
