He is one of the most outstanding Spanish conductors of his generation.
A student of Ilya Musin at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory, he was Associate Conductor of the Saint Petersburg Hermitage Orchestra from 1998 to 2008, and Principal Conductor of the INSO Lviv State Symphony Orchestra (Ukraine) from 2010 to 2012. Since 2012 he has been Artistic Director of the New York Opera Society .
He has developed an international career for which he has been awarded as one of the "100 Spaniards" highlighted in 2013 as exporters of the "Spain" brand, in addition, that same year, he received the Ciurlionis Foundation award in Lithuania for his career and dissemination of the musical heritage of that country.
Sponsored by Valery Gergiev, he made his debut as a conductor at the Mariinsky Theater in 2007 with "The Marriage of Figaro" and as a symphony conductor at the new Mariinsky concert hall. Since then he has been a regular guest conductor of the Mariinsky Theater and Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Saint Petersburg Symphony and the rest of the city's orchestras.

Among the Operas and Zarzuelas that he has directed we can mention; « Faust «,» Marriage of Figaro ”, “ Barber of Seville ”, « Rigoletto ”, « Scala di Seta «, « Boris Godunov «, « Falstaff «, “ Diana's tree ”, « Eugene Oneguin «, ” The daughter of the regiment ”, “ Madam Butterfly ”, ” Glaura and Cariolano ”, “ The empty hours ” (Ricardo LLorca),“ Everardo II Re di Lituania” , “ Van Gogh's letters ”, “La del soto del Parral ”, and the world premieres of “ El ahijado de la muerte ” by Wilfred Junge and “ La Dulcinea de D. Quijote ” by Agustín Castilla-Ávila.
In 1998 he created the Festival "Tardes de España" in St. Petersburg, of which he is its artistic director, which during 18 editions, has carried in all its editions a sample of contemporary Spanish music with some of the most outstanding performers of our country.
In 2014 he made his debut at the Lithuanian National Opera, with “El Barbero de Sevilla”.
As a composer, he has premiered Symphonic and piano works in countries such as Spain, Russia, USA, Germany and Ethiopia. He is a member of the Spanish Society of Authors and has been invited as a juror in the Sochi (Russia) composition contest in 2015 and 2016.
He has taught orchestra at various Spanish Conservatories and has taught orchestra conducting masterclasses at the University of Belo Horizonte (Brazil).
Recently, he has premiered Ricardo Llorca's Opera "Three Top Hats" in Sao Paulo with great success and David del Puerto's Symphony No. 4 , of which he is the dedicatee, with the Mariinsky Orchestra in Saint Petersburg.
Since 2014 he has collaborated as a guest conductor in various Festivals organized by Yuri Bashmet that take place in cities all over Russia with different orchestras, including the National Youth Orchestra of Russia, at the head of which he closed the 2018 Festival.
The latest Opera by David del Puerto, “Lilith Luna negra” , has just premiered at the Úbeda Festival .
In 2020 he created the " Alborada Clásica" festival based in Salobreña in which there are master classes, concerts and a final contest for young talents and in October 2021 it celebrates its II Edition.
In November 2021, he directed, during the Teatro Real season, a new production of "Las horas vacías" at the Teatros del Canal, with Sonia de Munck as leading soprano and José Luis Arellano in stage direction.
