Algimantas Treikauskas - flutist, teacher, conductor of the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra. Algimantas Treikauskas was a member of the initiative group for the establishment of the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra in Kaunas. The successful activities of the Kaunas Chamber Orchestra led by Algimantas Treikauskas made it possible to establish a symphony orchestra in the fall of 2004. It was a marked qualitative change in the musical life of Kaunas, which was reflected in the whole cultural life of Lithuania.
Algimantas Treikauskas is the organizer, coordinator and manager of all artistic programs prepared by the orchestra. The Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra prepares over 60 concert programs and artistic and educational projects per year, which are intended for all groups of society. Algimantas Treikauskas invites the most famous domestic and foreign professionals to conduct the orchestra and prepare programs, thereby promoting the name of the city and the country and contributing to the popularization of classical music.
Algimnatas Treikauskas also participates in commissions and expert activities of various national and international competitions. He was a member of the commission of the Kaunas Sonorus International Competition of Young Artists, the International Festival of Young Musicians, and the International Aram Khchaturian Conductor Competition (Armenia). This year, he was the chairman of the judging panel of the Fjord Cadenza competition of the International Classical Music Festival.
The activities of Algimantas Treikauskas have been recognized with the "Carry your light and believe" award of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania, the "Santaka" badge of honor, the medal of the mayor of Kaunas Petros Vileišis, and the badge of honor of the head of Kaunas county. in 2008 A.
