A former soloist with The Australian Ballet, as a youngster, Ben used to tag along to his sister’s jazz ballet classes and copy the routines from the back of the studio before he started attending his own classes at age seven.
He trained with Leanne Rutherford of Ballet Theatre Australia and joined The Australian Ballet in 2005.
He performed many featured roles as a dancer with the company including, Jiří Kylián’s Sechs Tänze and Petite Mort, The Professor in Alexei Ratmansky’s Scuola di Ballo and Wayne McGregor’s Dyad 1929.
In 2020, Ben became the artistic director of Ballet Theatre of Australia, a pre-professional ballet school in Melbourne.
With his great eye for technical detail in his dance classes and his quick witted humor, Ben is a wonderful addition to our team at City Adult Ballet.
