Dainius Bendikas (born in 1986 in Šiauliai) is a clothing and accessories designer, costume designer, teacher. in 2011 completed bachelor's studies in fashion design at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, 2010. studied at the Icelandic University of the Arts under the Erasmus exchange program. in 2009 together with fellow student Ben Staškauskas won the international competition "Injekcija" and presented the author's collection-performance "Infiltrated" at the "Fashion Infection" festival. Later, D. Bendikas presented original fashion collections, exhibitions and installations in Estonia, Poland, Latvia, Iceland, Denmark. in 2011 won the national Young Designer prize for the "Monk of the Moon" collection.
2010-2018 lived in Iceland, worked as chief designer at the world-famous fashion house "Jör", collaborated with other international men's fashion designers and manufacturers. Presented collections at the Reykjavík Fashion Festival, since 2015. worked in the Icelandic film industry. Since 2016 taught at the Icelandic University of the Arts, developed teaching methodologies and creative approaches, led creative workshops for bachelor's and master's students, based on the author's "sculptural analysis" methodology. From 2019 teaches at the Vilnius Academy of Arts.
in 2013 debuted in musical theater, creating costumes for the Vilnius City Opera project "VCO Rock" at the Vilnius Concert and Sports Palace (directed by Dalia Ibelhauptaitė). He was nominated for the Golden Cross of the Stage for his debut work in the drama theater - the costumes for director Oskars Koršunov's play based on the play "The Sleepers" by Mariius Ivaškevičius (LNDT). in 2022 In July, he created the costumes for G. Verdi's opera "Nabukas" (directed by Kęstutis Jakštas, Kaunas State Music Theatre), which was presented at Kaunas IX Fort as part of the "Kaunas - European Capital of Culture 2022" program. Costumes for Broniaus Kutavičius's opera "Lokys" (dir. Gintaras Varnas) at the Klaipėda State Music Theater - D. Bendik's fourth creative work in Lithuanian theaters.
