Dmitry Zlotnik in 1983 graduated from the clarinet specialty at Klaipėda Stasios Šimkaus Higher Music School (current Klaipėda Stasios Šimkaus Conservatory). 1987 graduated from orchestra conducting studies at the Lithuanian Academy of Music, Faculty of Klaipėda. Also in 2008 completed post-graduate studies in opera-symphonic conducting at the Lviv Academy of Music. D. Zlotnikas trained at the Faculty of Klaipėda in the Department of Orchestral Conducting and in the Department of Symphonic Conducting of the Lithuanian Academy of Music. Also in 1990-1993 worked as a teacher at the Lithuanian Academy of Music in Klaipėda faculties.
1992-1994 founded and led the Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra, and since 1996 works as an assistant conductor of the Klaipėda State Musical Theater.

D. Zlotnikas is a regular conductor and patron of the "Young Talents Festival" concerts, in which Klaipėda music school students participate with the theater orchestra. With the orchestra of the Opera Studio of the Lviv Academy of Music, he prepares various symphonic music programs, including H. Olfen's "Swedish Rhapsody", G. Rossini's Overture to the opera "Sharka Vagilė", K. Kurpinski's concerto for clarinet and orchestra (Dmitrijus Zlotnik plays the clarinet solo part), N Rimsky-Korsakov's symphonic suite "Shecherezada", J. Strauss's operettas.
