in 1959 graduated from Debeikiai (Anykščiai district) high school. 1960-1965 studied Lithuanian language and literature at Vilnius University Faculty of History and Philology, received a philological education.
1968-1969 he was the head of the literary section of the Lithuanian Opera and Ballet Theater in 1969-1970. worked in the editorial office of "Kultūros bars" as a literary collaborator.
1970-1979 A. Gudelis was a member of the College of Drama Theaters of the Ministry of Culture of Lithuania, 1979-1985. worked as the director of the literary section of the Vilnius "Lėlė" theater. 1985-1989 he was the editor of the House of Art Workers, 1989-1990. - Creative Secretary of the Lithuanian Theater Union.
1990-1992 he worked in the editorial office of the newspaper "Lietuvos aidas" as the head of the culture department. While working in this publication, he wrote and published dozens of articles on topical issues of art, culture and public life.
