Miszk received his musical education at the Mieczysław Michalski Primary Music School in his birthplace, where he began learning to play the trumpet in 1998, which he continued from 2003 at the Feliks Nowowiejski State Music High School in Gdańsk. Between 2009 and 2017 he studied trumpet at the Stanisław Moniuszko Music Academy there with Szymon Pawłowski and Adam Stachowiak; he also obtained a Master of Music in natural trumpet at the Feliks Nowowiejski Music Academy in Bydgoszcz. Miszk has worked with musicians such as Markus Stockhausen, Sławek Jaskułke, Marcin Masecki and Mitch & Mitch. With the quartet Algorhythm, with whom he has performed at numerous festivals, he has released three albums since 2015. He is also a founding member of bands such as BLED, the Tomasz Chyła Quintet, the Dominik Bukowski Quartet and the Kamil Piotrowicz Sextet. In 2017 he founded the label Alpaka Records and his own octet Emil Miszk & The Sonic Syndicate, for which he also composes. Their debut album Don’t Hesitate! (2018) received the Fryderyk in the category “Jazz Debut of the Year”. In 2020 the album Artificial Stupidity (2020) followed, which was nominated for the Fryderyk in the category “Jazz Album of the Year”. He was also a member of the baroque trumpet quartet Tubicinatores Gedanenses, the contemporary music ensemble Sinfonietta Pomerania and the Goldberg Baroque Ensemble, with whom he made recordings. He can also be heard on albums by Michał Bąk Quartetto, Pesh, Petera Sextet and the Piotr Lemańczyk Quartet North. Since 2019, Miszk has also been a lecturer in the jazz and stage music department at the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk.
