Eugenijus Chrebtovas was born in the Donetsk Oblast of Ukraine. In 2004-2006 he participated in the Opera Studio programme (with prof. V. Noreika and V. Viržonis) of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre. In 2009 he completed his MA in Vocal Performance at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
The soloist has successfully participated in international and republican singing competitions: he won 3rd prize at the Z. Paulauskas Competition (2001), became a laureate of the Stasys Baras Competition, won a diploma at the Z. Paulauskas Competition (2002) and was bestowed the 1st prize in the same competition in 2003. In 2010 E. Chrebtovas became a laureate of the F. Chaliapin’s singing competition “Golosa nad Pliosom” and in 2012 won the 1st prize in Tiit Kuzik’s singing competition (Estonia).
From 2012 to 2014 E. Chrebtovas was a soloist with the Kaunas State Musical Theatre. He made his debut with the role of Falke in J. Strauss’ operetta “Die Fledermaus”, and in 2012 also created the role of Homonay in J. Strauss’ operetta “Der Zigeunerbaron”).
In 2017 E. Chrebtovas made his debut on the stage of the Estonian National Opera with the principal role of Figaro in W. A. Mozart’s “Le nozze di Figaro”. Here he also sang Enrico in G. Donizetti’s opera “Lucia di Lammermoor”.
The soloist is constantly improving his professional skills in various masterclasses (of prof. V. Prudnikovas, J. Fisher, G. Cecchele, G. Bandzinaitė, P. de Napoli). E. Chrebtovas often performs at the Latvian National Opera and Theatre Vanemuine in Tartu, collaborates with conductors P. Vallet., C. Diederich, P. Magi, G. Bisanti, G. Marciano, D. Vlasenko, M. Pitrėnas, G. Rinkevičius, R. Šervenikas, V. Lukočius, M. Staškus, J. Geniušas. He participated in all concerts organized by the Opera Studio of the LNOBT.
In 2013 E. Chrebtovas made his debut at the LNOBT as Onegin in P. Tchaikovsky’s opera “Eugene Onegin”. Since 2015 he has been the soloist with the opera company of the LNOBT. His current repertoire includes Rodrigo in G. Verdi’s “Don Carlo”, Lescaut in J. Massenet’s “Manon”, Marcello in G. Puccini’s “La Boheme”. In 2014 E. Chrebtovas created the role of Don Carlo in G. Verdi’s “Ernani”, and also sang Escamillo in G. Bizet’s “Carmen” and Count Almaviva in W. A. Mozart’s “Le nozze di Figaro”.
In 2015 E. Chrebtovas participated in LNOBT’s tour at the Israeli opera in Tel Aviv – he performed the role of Count Almaviva in W. A. Mozart’s opera “Le nozze di Figaro”.
