He studied composition at the M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts under Bronių Kutavičius and at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater, prof. In the class of Vytautas Barkauskas (1990–1995). in 1996 improved in the courses of young composers in Radziejovici (Poland), 1997. – Apeldoorn (Holland). The works of Giedrias Puskunigis have been performed at the "Gaidas", "Jaunas muzikos" and "Muzikinios veksmos" festivals. Giedrius Puskunigis has created works of various genres, but he is best known as the author of music for theater and cinema.
