Giedrius Svilainis' creative field is religious music for choirs. His choral works are very popular with Lithuanian and foreign artists. Having acquired the education of a choirmaster and composer, the composer knows the specifics of the choir very well and strives to create expressive, colorful and effective music, which often combines the idioms of serious and entertaining music. One of the composer's most popular compositions is "O quam tristis" for mixed choir. Another recent direction of the composer's work is a new repertoire for the state song and dance ensemble "Lietuva", which the composer currently leads.
