In 1995, the ensemble "Gunteri Percusia" (formerly "Vilnius Percussion") founded by Pavel Giunter. This is the first percussion ensemble of its kind in Lithuania. During his 18 years of activity, the musicians gained public recognition and became popular in Lithuania and abroad. The ensemble often participates in festivals in Poland, Latvia, Belarus, Russia, Denmark. Well-known contemporary Lithuanian composers dedicate their works to this ensemble. The ensemble played together with Petar Vyšniauskas, Leonidas Šinkarenko and Jazz 4, Frederic Macarez (France), Linda Maxey (USA), Michael Udow (USA), Nebojsa Zivkovic (Germany). All members of the group are high level professionals. The ensemble plays classical, modern, folk, popular and jazz music. Currently, the ensemble includes: Sigitas Gailius, Tomas Kulikauskas, Viktoras Mogilo-Žano and Pavel Giunter.
Pavel Giunter is the founder and leader of the Giunter percussion ensemble. He is one of the most famous Lithuanian percussionists, a soloist who performs classical, modern, world and jazz music. Many works of Lithuanian authors are dedicated to him. Mr. Giunter regularly participates in classical and contemporary music projects together with St. Christopher's Chamber Orchestra, Lithuanian State and Lithuanian National Orchestras, chamber ensembles and soloists.
