The Ensemble of “I Solisti della Scala” was born from the will of Maestro Riccardo Muti, from the superintendence and the artistic direction of the Teatro alla Scala in 1990. Formed by the first solo parts of the Teatro alla Scala orchestra and the homonymous Philharmonic, it has a variable formation, capable in its various declinations of performing a repertoire that ranges from Classicism to the music of today. The Ensemble of “I Solisti della Scala” has been regularly present since its foundation in the chamber seasons of the Teatro alla Scala and in the main musical institutions in Italy and abroad. The Grand Partita of the Salzburg genius was taken on tour and concluded with the recording of a CD and DVD under the direction of Maestro R. Muti. To name some of the most prestigious halls in the world (Carnegie Hall – NY, Musikverein – Vienna Tonhall – Zurich, Santory Hall Tokyo) Among the notable collaborations are those with M. W Chung, D. Barenboim and R. Muti himself in the extraordinary role of pianist. The various groups have recordings with the most important international record companies (Deutsche Grammophon, Decca, Warner Classic, Sony, CPO, Amadeus, Limen Music).
