Klaipėda State Musical Theater children's opera studio in 2016. was founded by conductor Vytautas Valys. Children aged 7-15 attend the studio, participating in theater performances in Giacomo Puccini's opera "Bohemia", Frank Wildhorn's musical "Bonnie and Clyde", Jerry Bock's musical "Fiddler on the Roof", Rita Mačiliūnaitė's chamber opera "To the Lighthouse", Piotr Tchaikovsky's ballet "The Nutcracker". " (chor. Kirill Simonov, music director Tomas Ambrozaitis, 2019) and others.
Choir artist Eglė Valytė, choreographer, dancer Taurūnas Baužas also work with young singers in the opera studio, KVMT soloist Živilė Subačiūtė teaches stage language and acting skills. In addition to participating in theater performances, studio participants prepare concert programs every year.
The goal of the Klaipėda Children's Opera Studio is to gather a professional group of children who are able to successfully integrate into opera, musical, and dance performances. Since its establishment, the studio has been noticeable not only in Klaipėda, but also throughout Lithuania. The students of the studio have repeatedly become winners of prestigious young artist competitions, TV projects "Dainų dainelė", "Lithuanian Music Talent League", "Lietuvos balsas", "Slavyanskiy bazar", "Sing with me".
