The famous Tbilisi ensemble "Shara band" consists of 6 musicians (vocals, folk music instruments) and 5 dancers who explore and perform Georgian contemporary ethnic and church music. The singers of the collective have been singing together since childhood, they have thoroughly studied the folk and church songs of all regions of Georgia (Christmas carols occupy a special place in the repertoire). The songs of Kakheti, Abkhazia, Adjara, Svaneti and other regions of the country are very distinctive, requiring specific performance manners and singers' skills. Georgian folk dance is one of the most effective and expressive national dances in the world, which does not leave anyone indifferent. During the performances of the collective, it is the talented dancers who create a unique visualization that helps to understand what is being sung about even for those who do not know the Georgian language. Musicians play folk instruments: Doli (percussion), Panduri, Chonguri, Chuniri (strings), Gudastviri, Chiboni, Salamuri (bagpipes). The ensemble, which has gained wide recognition and popularity both in Georgia and beyond, is especially famous for the original compositions of contemporary ethnic music created by its performers. Unafraid of experiments, bravely improvising artists of the SHARA BAND ensemble will give Lithuanian listeners an unforgettable evening of Georgian music.
