J. Janulevičius 1982–1993 studied at Kaunas J. Naujalis Music Gymnasium, graduated in piano major. in 1991 he became the second place laureate of the republican S. Vainiūnas pianists competition.
in 1993 entered the Lithuanian Academy of Music, doc. R. Bekionis piano class. He performed in Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, participated in international competitions and became a graduate. J. Janulevičius participated in the master courses of professors L. Natočeny, D. Baškirov, H. Schicker, M. Rubackytė (Vilnius), V. Margulis (Germany), P. Lasman (Druskininkai), L. Berman (Slovakia). in 1999 J. Janulevičius completed his master's studies in piano.
1998-2003 J. Janulevičius studied and graduated from the Department of Symphony and Opera Conducting of the Lithuanian Academy of Music. J. Alexa's class. In 1999, after gathering a student group, he performed I. Stravinsky's suite "A Soldier's Story" at the Lithuanian National Philharmonic. 2000-2001 J. Janulevičius participated in ERASMUS conducting courses, 2001-2002. studied at the Paris National Conservatoire under Professor Janoš Fuerst.
J. Janulevičius began his artistic activity as a conductor in 1998, performing concert programs with the "Trimitas" wind orchestra, the Šiauliai Chamber Orchestra, the Lithuanian State and National Symphony Orchestras. With the Kaunas Chamber Orchestra, the conductor performed A. Šėnberg's piece "The Clear Night", as well as R. Štraus's "Metamorphoses", toured in Zagreb.
The conductor is invited every year to participate in the international festival "Operetė in the Kaunas Castle", he is its chief conductor and musical director. 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 after this festival, Mr. Janulevičius toured various cities of the Russian Federation under the banner of this festival.
2006-2018 prepared a number of concert programs with the Šiauliai Chamber Orchestra, was its conductor and artistic director.
From 2015/2016 At the beginning of the creative season, J. Janulevičius was appointed the chief conductor of the Kaunas State Musical Theater and replaced Juliųs Geniušas, who worked in this position for more than 25 years.
J. Janulevičius also works as a teacher. 2002-2010 he led the chamber orchestra of the Kaunas Faculty of the Lithuanian Academy of Music, and participated with him in the international festival of youth orchestras in Spain. in 2003 founded the J. Naujalis Music Gymnasium Symphony Orchestra and the Kaunas Academic Youth Symphony Orchestra. 2015-2018 J. Janulevičius was the artistic director of the VDU chamber orchestra.
