1996-2004 studied at Anykščiai Antanas Baranauskas secondary school (now - Anykščiai Antanas Baranauskas primary school). During his school years, he played the piano and studied at the Anykščiai Music School. 2004-2007 continued his studies at Vilnius Juozos Tallat-Kelpša Conservatory, prof. Teisutius Makačinas in music theory and composition, while also finishing high school. 2007-2012 studied composition at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater under Prof. Vytautas Barkauskas, obtained a bachelor's degree. 2012-2014 continued his composition studies at the master's degree of this academy with prof. Ritius Mažulis, received a master's degree in music.J. Aglinskas works as a sound director at the Music Innovation Center of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater, and also teaches sound design at the Vilnius College of Technology and Design.
During his studies, J. Aglinskas composed music, wrote a cycle for duets of wind and brass instruments and live electronics "Erdvės", a cycle for four pianos and four string instruments "Clocks". He participated in several music and other art projects: he created music for an audiobook with W. Szymborska's poems read by actress D. Michelevičiūtė, for the poetry composition "The Power of Language" by Č. Based on Miloš's work (2011). He arranged the song "Feel Myself Free" by the Eurovision finalist Gabrielias Vagelis ("Feel Myself Free", 2017).
He created the soundtracks for Emilia Škarnulytė's short films "38th North Horizontal" and "Song-do", for Aleks Matvejev's documentary "I Trust You" (2016).
Author's debut album "Daydreamer" by J. Aglinskas was recorded in London (Great Britain) by the experimental music group "Apartment House" (2019). This group performs J. Aglinska's work "Blue Dusk" in 2020. was broadcast for the first time on BBC Radio 3 in November, and in 2023 was released on vinyl in March.
His musical works were published in the group albums of contemporary music "30 Druskomania akimirkais" (2014), "Zoom In 11" (2015), "Anthology of Lithuanian Art Music in the 21st Century" (2017).J. Aglinskas was the sound director of the rock group "Freaks On Floor", performed with this group and as its keyboard player. He produced this group's album "Hello Girls!" (2011) records made in Anykščiai chapel. The band "Freaks On Floor" at the M.A.M.A. Music Awards. won the title of the best rock band of the year twice (2011 and 2012). Later, he contributed to the groups "ba" and "Zhalvarinis", he was the sound director of these groups. As a sound director, he also worked at Heineken Open-er, Rabarock, Vilnius Music Week, Velnio Akmuo, Karklė and other festivals.J. Aglinskas' piece for mixed choir "The New Net In Two" won 3rd place in the "Vox Juventutis" creative competition for young composers (2011). For his composition for two keyboard instruments "Fragments for Two" he became the laureate of the first Music Innovation Prize established by the Music Innovation Study Center of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater and the Lithuanian Composers' Union (2013). For the composition "Fragmentai" for the symphony orchestra, he won the Lithuanian Composers' Union "Music of the Year Vinies" awards for the brightest original music works of 2014, in the "Debut of the Year" and "Audience Sympathy" nominations (2015).
