Karolis Variakojis is one of the brightest conductors of the young Lithuanian generation. He is the guest conductor of the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater Orchestra, the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra, and the contemporary music festival "Gaida".
In 2019, the ensemble "Synaesthesis" conducted by him won the title of Vilnius City Municipality Ensemble.
In 2020, the Synaesthesis ensemble became the winner of the prestigious Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation prize.
