Karolis is the editor of the NARA website and podcast, one of the pioneers of podcasting in Lithuania, and is also engaged in media education. Previously, he created talk shows on LRT radio, "Žiniai radio", published texts in Deutsche Welle and DELFI. As a journalist, he brought back stories from both coasts of the United States and different cities in Europe. Karolis' interlocutors included filmmakers Jonas Mekas and Sean Baker, anthropologist, Harvard lecturer Ieva Jusionytė, organizers of the Lithuanian "Black Lives Matter" protest.
in 2019 Karolis initiated the "Journalism Laboratory" project, which included five regional school newspapers in Lithuania. His areas of interest in journalism are politics, social movements, education, generational clashes.
